MOFCOM Scholarship — CSC Program

The MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program is established by China’s Ministry of Commerce to strengthen cooperation with developing countries and support the development of professional talent.
The China Scholarship Council administers the scholarship.
Unlike many general international-student scholarships, MOFCOM is primarily focused on postgraduate education and professional development.
Study levels
The program generally supports:
- Master’s programs: approximately 2–3 years
- Doctoral programs: approximately 3 years

What does it cover?
The scholarship can include:
- Tuition fees
- Teaching/material and related academic fees covered under the program
- Free on-campus accommodation
- Monthly stipend
- Medical insurance
- One-off settlement allowance
- International airfare
- Certain approved home-visit airfare support
Who is it designed for?
The program is primarily intended for qualified professionals from developing countries.
Published eligibility requirements include:
- Non-Chinese citizenship
- Generally under 45 years old
- Bachelor’s degree for Master’s applicants
- Master’s degree for Doctoral applicants
- At least three years of work experience
- Relevant academic or professional background
- English proficiency meeting program requirements
- Good health
- Professional development potential
The scholarship also has specific expectations concerning professional background and applicants’ roles in government, organizations, enterprises, universities or research institutions.
Important
This is not a general scholarship for fresh Bachelor’s applicants.
It is primarily a postgraduate and professional-development scholarship.
