Medical study decision guide

For medical study, admission to a programme and eligibility to practise later are separate questions. Check both before committing.

Verify the exact programme

Ask the university for the current programme title, duration, teaching language, curriculum and the intake you are considering. Confirm where clinical teaching takes place and how the university explains language support in clinical settings.

Check future practice where you intend to work

Use the medical regulator or licensing authority in the country where you intend to practise. Give it the university name, exact programme, intended graduation route and source date. Do not rely on a generic “recognised worldwide” statement.

Compare the full cost and support

Request the current tuition, accommodation, insurance, clinical or registration charges and any scholarship terms in writing. Separate confirmed funding from awards that are only available to apply for.

Questions for a university

  • Which language is used in teaching and clinical placements?
  • Which admission evidence is required for this intake?
  • What is included in the published fee and what is separate?
  • Who can confirm the current curriculum and clinical arrangements?
Important: Universities decide admission. Licensing authorities decide professional eligibility. Neither outcome can be guaranteed by an education adviser.
